The 76ers organization is making things right with Sevyn Streeter.

In late October, the 30-year-old singer announced she was prohibited from singing the national anthem just moments before she was set to step on the court. Streeter later posted a Twitter video in claiming Sixers officials had canceled her performance because of her jersey, which read: “We Matter.” The team received a great deal of backlash after the video began circulating around the internet, but they have since apologized to Streeter and have now invited her back to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Onwards & Upwards. Thank you all for your support ?#WeMatter

As many of you know, Sevyn was scheduled to perform the National Anthem at the 76ers vs. OKC game Wednesday. Moments before going on, she was pulled from singing for wearing a jersey saying ‘We Matter’

Today, the organization has released a public apology to Sevyn.

“We are sorry that this happened. After receiving feedback from our players, basketball operations staff and ownership group, we believe that the wrong decision was made, and Sevyn should have been welcomed to sing. We apologize to her, and in an effort to move the conversation forward, we have reached out to offer her an opportunity to return and perform at a game of her choice. We are waiting to hear back.”
